Itinerary Outline
Upon arrival to Marrakech airport our driver / tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel to check in and get some rest, later on you will have some free time to wander around the red city
After you enjoy breakfast at the hotel you will start a guided tour of Marrakech with a local guide from Marrakech. You will see the famous Mosque of Koutubia, the Medina and its souks, and explore some more of Marrakech’s secrets: Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school, the Saadian the Bahia Palace and Majorelle Gardens, night at a Riad in the Medina. Overnight in riad / hotel
We will start our tour to the desert around 8:30 am, drive to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi ntichka pass (2260 meters). We will have a stop in a panoramic view for fabulous pictures. Get to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s a location for numerous movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and the famous one is Game Of Thrones, and many more. After lunch in Ait Ben Haddou village, continue to Dades Gorges via Ouarzazate through the ” Road of the thousand Kasbahs “. Arrive at evening, spend the night in a Hotel/Riad in Dades Gorges.
After breakfast, we leave for the Todra Gorges, where we will have a walk under the 300 meters high cliffs. Then continue our trip to Merzouga, where we will find an experienced camel man and camels waiting to carry us across the fabulous dunes of Merzouga, for around half an hour to reach the camp. Spend the night with locals under the stars.
The staff will wake you up early in the morning to watch the beautiful sunrise then ride the camels back to Merzouga, you will take a refreshing shower and breakfast, before we start our journey to Fez. we will stop for an hour to Visit the Souk of Rissani, which preserves some of a bygone Sijilmassa empire. You will get to see the local art crafts, and different quarters of the Souk. We travel afterwards via the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas mountains till we arrive to Midelt. After lunch we will leave Midelt driving through the cedar forests of Azrou and stop to see closely and possibly hand feed the monkeys. We will continue via Ifrane, the ‘Switzerland of Morocco’, before we arrive early evening in Fes. Overnight in a Riad / Hotel
After breakfast you will visit the city of Fez with a local guide . Fez is the biggest city after Casablanca with a population of approximately 1 million also one of the country’s four imperial cities. Fez comprises three distinct parts, Fez el Bali which is the oldest part surrounded by a big wall, where are more than 9000 narrow streets and allies. Fez-Jdid or the new Fez, home of the Mellah the Jewish quarter and the Ville Nouvelle the newest section of Fez created during the French occupation.Fez el Bali is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its Medina is the largest in the world. Among its narrow streets and allies, the oldest university in the world is located; The University of Al-Karaouine, founded in AD 859. This University is still operating nowadays .
After you enjoy your breakfast we will drive to the north of Morocco through the Rif Mountains, arriving at Chefchaouen, The blue pearl of the north where everything is set dramatically against the mountains. Things to see among many are the blue-tinted houses and cobbled streets with mountainous backdrop which create a photographic setting. Overnight in a riad / hotel.
After breakfast our journey will start towards volubilis via Ouazzan and other rif villages. Volubilis embodies the roman ruins and presents a unique archaeological site of the Moroccan history, after the visit of the ruins we will shift our way to Meknes city, one of the four imperial cities since the 17th century, where we will hang around the historical huge walls of the medina, bab el mansour. Later on we continue to Rabat, the capital of Morocco where you will spend the night.
After you enjoy your Breakfast we will visit the city’s major attractions: Hassan tower and Mausoleum of Mohammed V & his son Hassan ll -former king and father of the current King. The 12th Century Kasbah Udayah: a departure point for armies leaving to conquest Spain, in the 18th century, a gathering of pirates who used to capture ships. later on we will drive towards Casablanca where you will visit Hassan 2nd Mosque where you join a 45 mins walking guided tour. Overnight in a hotel / riad .
We will transfer you to the airport and this will be the end of the tour.
